I'd assume they didnt know how bad the injury was and he thought he could play through, i mean i dont remember seeing him looking noticeably hindered by anything, he put a real shift in especially when we were down to 10 men. dont remember reading anything about him even being a doubt so he may have even been unaware of it if it wasnt effecting him.

Bit silly playing him at Villa really. It’s cost us in the slightly longer term by the sounds of it

Re: Lanzini out for 3-4 weeks.
As much as I agree that his injuries are getting a bit out of hand I think he is our most important attacking midfielder alongside felipe. There is no way we can repeat that norwich performance with fornals/wilshere replacing manu. He is on another level imo.

According to Inkersole he played through the injury which clearly exacerbated it,

Lanzini played the full 90 mins against Villa so did he play with the injury? if he got the injury playing for Argentina.

Re: Lanzini out for 3-4 weeks.
Not a criticism. Just a point.
As a number 10, I wish he did a little more coming from the right side of the pitch and less from the left. Mix it up more. Think he'd be more effective as he'd be more unpredictable and harder to pick up. His heat maps show this. Makes our movement forward a little unbalanced sometimes.

Atleast this means he wont be called up for international duty during the upcoming break

The problem is that these injuries (plus his major ones) always seem to come around when he is just building momentum and starting to show his quality. He had a good pre-season and has started this season well, and now this.

Its extremely frustrating, again given that this has happened on international duty for a useless Argentina side.

If we ever get a major offer in for him we should sell for this reason.

Hopefully Fornals or Wilshere step up to the plate.

Re: Lanzini out for 3-4 weeks.
Apparently its a bone bruise from what i read so more of an impact injury rather than anything muscular which shouldnt have any lingering effect,

Just annoying that the Argies flew him all over the world to give him about 15 minutes at the end of a pointless friendly and send him back hurt.

Hope that this isn't a sign of things to come.

We are lucky in as much as its only two games and, as others have said, gives Fornals a run.

Hairy hammer

Lanzini is nowhere near a potent as Payet. Payet was our most effective and potent player in a generation.

It gives Formals the chance to get a consistent run in the team and find his feet. He'll come good

How can he be as potent and score less at the same time?

He isn't btw

Re: Lanzini out for 3-4 weeks.
He is probably the most important and definitely for me the most exciting player a great little play maker who gets the supporters on their feet whenever he gets the ball and begins a move.

Yes it is typical West ham that our best attacking player is constantly injured for me he is as potent as Payet was when he is going forward maybe with less goals though.

What with him and Antonio, our quickest, most direct players keep getting injured. Hopefully Fornals can step up to the mark and take his chance.

Re: Lanzini out for 3-4 weeks.
I value Lanzini above our above gifted players as he can create through the middle of the park where the others are more wide, not too many of those around. But as as said not the end of the world if it's only a few weeks.

It is nice though that with a decent squad this season its not such a big blow, plus as mentioned with another international break coming up its only a couple of games.

Maybe gives Fornals an opportunity of a few games, which hopefully he can finally grasp, been a bit liteweight so far when hes played, but hopefully he will adjust and things will click.

Back hopefully in time for Everton then? Misses this week and Palace.

Not heart-broken.

I think we've a squad and a manager who can get us playing pretty well without Lanzini.

Having available would be a bonus. It's not a necessity.

Got injured on international duty again

It honestly fucks me off with that useless Argie team.
